No matter how much love a Caregiver may have for the person for whom s/he is caring, one can become overwhelmed and fatigued with the sense of responsibility. Although a Caregiver may not be able to leave town for a vacation or even leave the residence that is shared with the loved one, there are ways to give oneself some space from the emotional stress. Dr. Toler earned her Ph.D. in Counseling from The University of North Texas and M.S. and B.A. degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has been in the mental health field since 1996.
